King Tut's FA20Club.com Dyno Tuning Experience

Thanks:

I really want to thank these guys. Without their help, who knows where I would be with my turbo charged BRZ.

LJ @FullBlown Motorsports for building such a damn good turbo kit. He has always been there to answer my questions, and still well after the sale contacts me to see how the turbo kit is running.

Toni @FA20Club.com for finding the time in his busy schedule to dyno tune my car. He already wanted datalogs from the car before it was even off the dyno, and I know his support will continue to be there in the future.

David @Sportsguy83 for setting up the dyno tuning with Toni and hosting me in his house for the weekend. I also need to thank his wife for the great food.

Octane:

All numbers are on Florida 93 octane fuel.

The Story:

Ever since I bought the car,

FA20CLUB Innovate Supercharger Tuning, Parts, Improvements & Results

Well, to start off the unit is definitely well built. The power delivery is instant it seems like and pull steadily throughout the rpm range. As far as the down sides. The main issues we have encountered have been related to lack of intercooler, which really hurts those not blessed with 93 octane fuel in their area. This also limits current power limits because of the blower becoming a heat pump when increasing boost levels.

FINALLY DYNO TUNED! part 2

DYNO Video and Final Thoughts

Conclusion:

It is VERY important for all forum members to understand that installing a FI kit is not lilies and roses. It can be painful, hard, nerve wrecking and requires a good amount of $$ to get it right. There is a big bunch of mods that go around a FI kit that while not all of them are absolutely necessary, all work together to REALLY finalize a proper car build.

DONT be afraid to ask questions and make sure you understand everything, because there are some mistakes that just can't be undone.

If I had to do it again and in hindsight with what is available now, it wold be a painfully HARD decision but I THINK I would have chosen AVO again. The reason is when I initially chose AVO, I had certain goals for the car, and even though they changed as I modified it, AVO is still within them. I still love my AVO. Its an awesome kit, well made, easy to install and with great power delivery characteristics. I don't regret my decision one bit as I am VERY HAPPY with how my build came out.

If you want GREAT customer service, down to earth guy, great tunes, go with @FA20Club.com, it just doesn't get any easier than that!

Happy modding FT86 club. I hope my trial and errors help some members to avoid them.
